Privacy Policy

Effective: July 3, 2026 · Made by jSon Publishers

FactLens processes information only when needed to provide features you choose, such as transcription, fact-checking, account access, billing, and support.

Information FactLens processes

Depending on the features you use, FactLens may process:

FactLens does not intentionally collect passwords, form entries, cookies, keystrokes, private files, or content from unrelated tabs.

Information stored in the extension

Settings, provider credentials, source preferences, and local history are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. Provider credentials are used only to contact the service you configure and are not sent to jSon Publishers.

Audio processing

When you start an audio or video session, FactLens sends audio from the active tab to the transcription provider or custom transcription endpoint you select. That provider processes the audio under its own terms and privacy practices.

AI, search, and custom endpoints

When you use an AI provider, FactLens may send the selected claim, limited page or speaker context, and retrieved source material to that provider. Image and post checks may also include the image or visible content you selected.

When search is enabled, FactLens sends a query derived from the claim to the search provider you choose. Browser-based search may open temporary background tabs to collect relevant titles, links, and snippets.

Self-hosted and custom endpoints are services you choose and control. Their operators, hosting providers, and infrastructure may process or retain requests according to their own policies. FactLens does not include or operate a local AI model inside the extension.

Accounts and licensing

Google sign-in is used to create and authenticate your FactLens account. FactLens receives basic profile information from Google and maintains account and license records needed to provide trials, purchases, activation, and access to Pro features.

Support and uninstall feedback

Support requests include the category, reply email address, message, and an installation identifier. Uninstall feedback may include the selected reason, optional details, an installation identifier, and basic browser information. We use this information to respond to requests, investigate problems, and improve FactLens.

Payments

Payments are processed by Paddle. Paddle collects and processes payment and billing information under its own privacy terms. FactLens receives the transaction and entitlement information needed to provide your purchase, but jSon Publishers does not receive or store your full payment card details.

Abuse prevention

Support, uninstall, and checkout forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse. Cloudflare may process browser, device, and network signals for this purpose as described in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. FactLens does not add your network address to the feedback record.

Retention and deletion

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your account or support request through the support page. Third-party providers may retain information under their own terms and account settings.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information handled by FactLens. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

FactLens is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FactLens changes. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
